What do I need to know about speed and volume capacity for sending?

This article provides some helpful insights around speed and volume within our platform.

Sending Window

  • Campaigns can send between 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM local time.
  • Ensure all campaigns are queued well before the 9:00 PM cutoff to avoid missed sends.
  • Next Day Sending Feature: When creating a campaign, end times can be set to the following day. If messages don’t finish by 9:00 PM local time, the system will queue them to resume sending at 8:00 AM the next day.
Note: This must be set during campaign setup; end times cannot be adjusted once a campaign is live.

MPS (Messages Per Second) Limitations

  • While speeds can be adjusted, there are natural throughput limits to consider.
  • Flag heavy-volume clients early so the team can plan ahead and maximize sending speed.
  • Baseline 10DLC speed: ~200k messages per hour. Unless otherwise noted during client registration, this is the standard setup.
  • Increasing speeds requires additional registration steps and carries added cost, so advance notice is appreciated.
  • Many factors can influence actual send speed; treat 200k/hour as a baseline, not a guarantee

Contact List Uploads

  • New contact lists must be classified before sending, which can delay campaign start times.
  • If a campaign is stuck in Pending or Scheduling, this is likely the cause.
  • Upload contact lists ahead of time to minimize delays and ensure on-time delivery.

Clickers (Manual Click Execution)

  • Manual click processing occurs every 10 minutes (e.g., 12:00, 12:10, 12:20).
  • The team works quickly, but please account for the human element during high-volume periods.
  • Flag large campaigns early so the click team can prepare accordingly.

Sending Pipelines

  • Single client / single message type: Campaigns send sequentially (one after another).
  • Multiple clients or different message types: Can send simultaneously via separate pipelines.
  • Pro Tip: Distribute volume across clients or message types to maximize throughput.

Time Zone Prioritization

  • Always enable Time Zone Prioritization near the end of the day.
  • This ensures campaigns send east-to-west, reaching as many recipients as possible before the 9:00 PM cutoff.
  • Note: This must be enabled manually per campaign each time.

End-Time Adjustment

  • Campaigns can be configured to pause at 9:00 PM and automatically resume at 8:00 AM the next day.
  • Example: If acceptable for a campaign to continue next morning, simply set the end time to the next day — the system will manage the transition automatically.
